Paul Hodges

Dr. Paul Hodges is renowned for his research in spinal stability. He was awarded the 2006 prize from the International Society for the Study of the Lumbar Spine and he leads a team of researchers investigating spinal pain in Australia.

Mark Jones

Mark Jones is Program Director, Master of Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy, School of Health Sciences, University of South Australia. His background in psychology as well as his training in Advanced Manipulative Therapy has led him to the field of clinical reasoning.

Diane Lee

Diane Lee, an internationally renowned author of many books on the pelvis and the thoracic spine, has integrated the scientific research on lumbopelvic function into a clinical model for assessment and treatment. She is a member of the Scientific Committee for the Interdisciplinary World Congress on Low Back and Pelvic Pain.

Linda Joy Lee

Linda Joy-Lee, member of Professor Hodges' team of researchers, she is currently pursuing a PhD investigating novel approaches to assess and train thoracic control in patients with spinal pain and dysfunction. Together with Diane Lee, LJ is a co-founder of DiscoverPhysio, whose mission is to educate, inspire, and support clinicians worldwide in their professional journeys.

Dr. Mary Magarey

Dr. Mary Magarey is a Senior Lecturer for the Division of Health Sciences and teaches at the postgraduate level in the new Master of Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy program at the University of South Australia. She has a particular interest in the sporting shoulder and in clinical reasoning.

Erl Pettman

Erl Pettman, who obtained the 2002 Outstanding Achievement Award from the Orthopaedic Division of the CPA for his contributions towards Manual Therapy education especially in the field of biomechanics and clinical reasoning, is an adjunct professor of the DScPT program at Andrew University in Michigan.

Roger Kerry

Mr. Roger Kerry MSc Manipulative Therapy, Course Director and Researcher at Nottingham University, Great Britain. His research interests include haemodynamics, manual therapy, clinical reasoning, and educational models. In June of this year, he was one of the invited panellists at the WCPT in Vancouver, presenting "Vertebral Artery Insufficiency Testing: Research, Protocols and Clinical Implications". Hearing about our Symposium on Clinical Reasoning, he absolutely wanted to join us to talk about his most passionate research subject.

Geoff Norman

Mr. Geoffrey Norman Ph.D., M.A in Educational Psychology, is Assistant Dean for Educational Research at McMaster University in Ontario. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada in 2007 and presently holds a Canada Research Chair in Cognitive Dimensions of Clinical Expertise. He focuses his research on the psychology of clinical reasoning. His challenge is to develop new ways of delivering knowledge, based on technology, but derived from an understanding of the way we think and learn.

Dr Bernard Charlin

Dr. Bernard Charlin MD, PhD was trained in Montpellier, France, as a head and neck surgeon. In Quebec, he was chair of the ENT division of the Department of Surgery at the University of Sherbrooke. He obtained a Master degree in Education (MA) in the University of Sherbrooke in 1993, a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Human Development and Psychology at the Harvard Graduate school of Education in 1994, and a PhD in Education at the University of Maastricht in 2002. In 1998, he moved to the University of Montreal to become Head of the Unit of research and Development in Health Sciences Education. His research field is assessment in situation of uncertainty. He is co-founder of the international journal "Pédagogie Médicale" and co-founder of the "Société Internationale Francophone d'Education Médicale" (SIFEM).
